"Off-grid solar is illegal in Hawaii."
100% legal. You just need to meet building and electrical codes (NEC) if you're doing permanent wiring. Portable plug-in systems like ours require zero permits in most cases. (We recommend hiring a licensed electrician to install your equipment if needed).
